Red or blue
We live in two worlds.
Most people never realize that they have unconsciously made the choice to live in a fallen world. They have swallowed the red pill sometime in their childhood, wholly unconsciously, by accident in imitating what their parents modelled before them. Most people never break out of that model. They never question it to begin with. This is what we call confirmation bias. But you don’t know you live in one, because you’ve never taken the time to question your reality. Is your perception really accurate? Do you actually see the truth, or just an imitation of it? A shade of reality reflecting your own convictions.
Because 99% of people are drugged with the red pill, it’s radically easy to accept that this is the only truth. In this world our value increases with how much money we make, the position we have, the recognition and respect we garner from others, the exterior things like income, status, appearance, education, access to opportunities, etc. In that red-pill world everybody runs after something external in a mad dash for power and status. Nobody cares about anybody else, ego fuels the journey, pride fills the gas tank. Lies and unfulfilled promises are being sold by the dozen.
And when we get to the destination, that final promised land we put so much store into, a magical thing happens. Like a magic trick: poof! The magic evaporates and we realize these goals we pursued aren’t all that they were made out to be. But at this point we have left loved ones behind, we have sacrificed our health, our peace, joy and heart in order to achieve that dream of climbing that Mount Everest of our dreams.
To say it in the words of some famous actor, I can’t remember who exactly, and I’m paraphrasing, “I thought I wanted to be famous, but when I finally got to be famous I realized it wasn’t at all what I thought it would be. Fame and success didn’t make me happy, it just made me lonelier and unhappier than I ever was.”
We chase after things thinking they will make us happy, peaceful, loved, valued, seen, understood, appreciated, etc. but external things never do. What we need isn’t found in this red-pill world. I’m not saying don’t pursue your passion. But let God lead you. God’s ultimate goal is to have a relationship with all of his children. He wants to build a world where each of us fulfills our purpose and we support each other without egoic goals. Where we are all part of his body, each limb performing a task, none higher than the next, none more important than the next. If you are a finger and you act like an eye you are out of position.
And if you are out of position you are out of alignment, and if you are out of alignment you will feel it. Negative emotions will abound. High emotions like joy, peace and love, faith, patience, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, charity and temperance will take you on the wings of an eagle where you can float above everything this world has to throw at you and nothing matters. It’s like being constantly drugged and high on morphine or whatever drug does this, except it’s real. It’s the result of deep inner work. Overcoming this world of traps and strings, the only way out is in, and through ourselves.
Which brings us to the blue-pill world. The fuel here is love, compassion, and surrender to a higher power. God is our heavenly GPS, who knows not only our past and present, but also the future version of who we will one day become. He knows what we will need to be happy when we are forty, sixty, or eighty, and he knows that in our twenties we might think riches and fame will make us happy, or a certain relationship, but God knows that those aren’t a match for who we will become in our forties. Only our egos think we know it all. Surrendering to God’s will isn’t actually giving up, or doing nothing. No, quite the opposite. Surrendering to God’s will is finally living, for real this time.
When we live for our ego and follow our own will we are like blindfolded guinea fowl running across an empty field being shot at by high caliber rifles. The truth has a way of pervading through our own willful self-delusions. It’s quite uncanny really. But most push down that scream of the soul, that desperate longing of their hearts. Many have entertained angels unawares. Inner conflict shouldn’t be a constant companion. That is a sign that we are living a compromised life, a life our soul tries to save us from if we’d only listen.
Deep inside us there is wisdom, there is truth, there is a place where God resides, but we can build forts and steel doors around that place and barricade it shut closed. But there is a cost involved. If we cut ourselves off from God we gradually fall into anxiety, restlessness and confusion because we literally turned off the signal to our GPS in the sky because we think we can see pretty clearly that there over there is a mountain and we must ascend it.
The universe can’t give us directions. The universe is creation itself. It can only reflect back to us what we project onto it. Paganism, the deification of nature and creation is an all-inclusive religious belief in the interconnectedness of everything. Which isn’t wrong, per-se, but it also isn’t the whole truth. The devil perverts every one of God’s truths and flips it, twists it, and changes it just a little bit, just enough so that we can glean there is truth to it, but it’s a half-truth, and just as dangerous as a complete lie.
What or who would the universe be? And what would be its will? The cosmos, the Milky Way? The galaxy? Our star system? The earth and moon and sun? What exactly does the universe include? Because there are different and contrary wills in the cosmos at large. Jupiter has a different gravitational field than earth, the sun a different average temperature requirement to the moon, days and nights oppose each other, winter and summer have differing laws. So what exactly is the “will of the universe”? It would be different depending on your location and time, and the body or planet you are occupying. So there can’t be a pervasive single will of the universe, and certainly it wouldn’t be to send you, single human a message. Why, how are you important to the rings of Saturn (yes, Saturn has rings). You aren’t. You don’t matter to the universe. The universe is a system designed by someone very intelligent with a lot of deliberation for someone.
That someone is us. This someone is God.
And God alone knows our purpose, because he designed us with one purpose in mind. And only that purpose will bring us ultimate happiness and fulfillment. It doesn’t mean that there won’t be days where you hate everything, but you ultimately end up constantly evolving, growing, healing, becoming, gaining knowledge, wisdom, becoming more of your authentic self, acquiring skills and honing your talents. And that is something which needs no audience, no claps, no recognition, and no rewards. But letting go of that mindset we have been programmed with by this fallen world is a tough pill to swallow. Mainly because most people never realize that they are brainwashed to believe a lie. This world is Maya. It’s not real. Ask the Natives of any continent, ask the Aboriginal Australians, ask anyone who knows anything.
Once you have glimpsed behind the curtain of delusion you can never go back to living this lie. You can be aware that most people live an unexamined life, like our good Socrates did, and still live a life largely unexamined yourself, that is the irony and tragedy of it all. Just because you know a little bit more than the rest doesn’t mean you know enough.
Unfortunately the devil, the great cunning deceiver, uses our most urgent desires, and our egoic need to be seen a certain way against us to enslave us into this world system. It’s all in the mind anyway. Change your perception and you can change your life. You can be doing the exact same thing you did yesterday, but with a completely different mindset and you live virtually in a different world. And eventually you will draw new conclusions, make different decisions and arrive at an entirely new destination, one that your old mindset would have never ever led you toward.
Who does this world serve? Does it largely serve humans? And if the answer is no, and here some say the world only serves a small number of privileged, very rich humans like the top 1%, but even those people get deathly ill, lose loved ones, get heartbroken, etc. So who does this world serve? Really? That is a question one should examine deeply. Who benefits from so many human beings constantly suffering and living in endless toxic cycles, never breaking their individually assigned cells in the matrix? It could only be one being, and it couldn’t be human. It would have to be a being with higher consciousness, an evil being, one that has only one way to still feel anything besides total damnation. Look behind the curtain and quit buying what they’re selling. We, the awakened, urge you to wake up, we tired of walking amongst zombies, brainwashed walking dead, asleep at the wheel. We tired. God is waiting for you prodigals to come home!
I leave you with this: God is the great reset. Christ came into this world to press that big reset button in our brains, so that when we accept him, we let go of our brainwashed perception, our crooked lenses, and finally see with the eyes of truth. It might hurt at first, truth tends to do that, but then it will be delicious and rewarding and endlessly interesting. And once you see with the eyes of truth the journey truly begins, your life truly begins. Most people aren’t afraid to die, they are afraid to live, because living is risky, it costs something, something real. And not the things you think you are sacrificing now. No, real things like shedding your delusions, your lies that kept you from humbling yourself, your egoic nature that kept telling you it’s okay to mishandle and disrespect someone if they aren’t immediately serving you.
One day we might realize this person we discarded so easily was actually the answer to our prayers. Oftentimes God sends our answers in packages that we least expect. And the guy is still waiting for God to save him when he sent him already a boat, a helicopter and a life raft. But if you can’t hear God’s still small voice amidst the loud roar of your ego, then you miss out on these auspicious chance opportunities every single time. God likes to hide himself behind coincidence, that’s how he stays anonymous.
So it’s best to listen closely, to pay attention, to read between the lines and let go of our narrow-minded thinking and expectations, and to make sure you’re wearing the right goggles. Happy swimming folks!
